Next comes some news around NBA:
Believe it or not, the New York Knicks are actually going about the business of playing basketball.
The media may be more concerned about the Stephon Marbury soap opera or the summer of 2010, but Mike D'Antoni and Knicks players not named Marbury are just trying to win some games.
Marbury was suspended for Saturday's game against the Golden State Warriors and Knicks president Donnie Walsh addressed the situation an hour before tipoff. Walsh intends to meet with Marbury on Monday and hopes the issue will be resolved after that.

"Everybody come in with good intentions, and it hasn't worked out," Walsh said.

The saga has turned into a he-said, he-said story about whether or not the Knicks really wanted Marbury to play earlier this week and whether or not Marbury refused.

It's an issue that has festered on too long, but whether or not it has had an impact on the standings is another question. With the Knicks' defense-free 138-125 win over the Warriors on Saturday, New York stands at 8-8 and on the playoff bubble after a month of action. That's not a bad position to be in for a team that has averaged 28 wins over the last four seasons.

Here the President of the Knicks speaks his thoughts:

"I don't think [the Marbury situation] is going to affect the other players on the team," Walsh said. "This has, somewhat, been going on a little bit, and they've handled that part of it very well."

The Knicks have other issues, like dealing with a slew of injuries. Including Marbury, D'Antoni had six players unavailable on Saturday. A seventh, Jerome James, hasn't played all season.

That leaves eight bodies for D'Antoni to choose from, and only two of them, Chris Duhon and Anthony Roberson, are guards. Nate Robinson suffered a groin injury last Saturday and, because of a heart issue, Cuttino Mobley hasn't been able to play since arriving in last Friday's trade with the Clippers.

Forward Jared Jeffries fractured his left fibula early in training camp, but he was in uniform on Saturday and should be available to play in the middle of next week.

In the meantime, D'Antoni is trying to make due. He's had to use a bigger, slower lineup than he would like and his assistant coaches often fill in as practice bodies.

"I don't think [the Marbury situation] is going to affect the other players on the team," Walsh said. "This has, somewhat, been going on a little bit, and they've handled that part of it very well."

"You get a list of things you want to cover and then you go out there," D'Antoni said, "[and you] can't quite cover that today. You kind of put it on the back burner and you do what you can do to get the guys ready."

Meanwhile, Duhon has been suffering from lower back pain for the last few games, but has been playing more than 40 minutes nightly because of the Knicks' thin backcourt.

"He'll battle through it," D'Antoni said of his point guard. "He's a tough kid."

That tough kid set the Knicks' single-game record for assists with 22 dimes Saturday and insists he would be playing even if a few more guards were available to play.

"If I can go out there and help my team," Duhon said after the game, "I'm going to do whatever it takes."

D'Antoni believes that toughness permeates his roster. While he's obviously had issues with Marbury, he couldn't be happier with the rest of his team.

"The guys are in good spirits," D'Antoni said. "They're trying to put it all together and be together."

Whether it is LeBron James' future or Marbury's past, Duhon says D'Antoni doesn't let external issues get into the locker room.

"He just doesn't talk about it," Duhon said. "He doesn't bring it up. That's not a discussion or a topic that we have in the locker room. Guys can have their own opinions and if it distracts them, it distracts them. But coach never brings it up and it can never be an issue here."

The issues that D'Antoni wants to concern himself with instead are getting healthy, integrating Tim Thomas and Al Harrington into his system, and of course, improving on the defensive end of the floor.

"I'm anxious," the coach said, "but as soon as we get Jared back, we get Nate back and then we get playing, we'll be fine. But we just have to get through this tough period. We'll get through it the best we can, but it's a long season and I think we'll be fine."

We thought the Knicks' off-the-court issues would go away with the departure of Isiah Thomas, but they're still here. At some point, though (maybe as soon as Monday), they'll go away (at least until LeBron comes to town again).

Then the media can concern themselves with what D'Antoni and his team has already been focused on: basketball.

Now what you say about the King's attitude??

LeBron James reacted strongly to Charles Barkley's comments that the Cavaliers star isn't showing respect for Cleveland fans and his teammates by discussing his possible free agency following the 2010 season.

"He's stupid. That's all I've got to say about that," James said Friday night before the Cavaliers' game against Golden State.

Barkley made the comments on TNT's NBA studio show and Dan Patrick's radio show.

"If I was LeBron James, I would shut the hell up," the Hall of Famer said on Patrick's show. "I'm a big LeBron fan. He's a stud. You gotta give him his props. I'm getting so annoyed he's talking about what he's going to do in two years. I think it's disrespectful to the game. I think it's disrespectful to the Cavaliers."

James, under contract for two more seasons, was bombarded with questions about his future when the Cavaliers visited New York to play the Knicks on Tuesday night.

The Cavaliers can offer him an extension as early as July 1, 2009. There has long been speculation James will eventually end up in one of the NBA's larger markets and the Knicks have cleared salary-cap space in anticipation of the 2010 free-agent class.

"I think July 1, 2010, is a very big day," James said when the Cavaliers were in New York. "It's probably going to be one of the biggest days in free-agent history in the NBA. So a lot of teams are gearing up to try to prepare themselves to be able to put themselves in position to get one of the big free-agent market guys."

Inheritence Cycle, Batman and Mount&Blade...

Evening all,
the new book of the Inheritance Cycle is out on the stores. Brisingr is getting more deeper in the story around Eragon and ancient lives of Alagaesia. The book is about the seven promises that Eragon gave and the future that awaits him. Also the book describes how Roran becomes a valuable asset to the Varden and of course Nasuada. Paolini wrote another extraordinary book that won many good critics. The book (basically the whole Cycle) is masterpiece. Anyone interested in fantasy books should buy those three and the upcoming fourth. Anyway, I won't continue speaking of how fascinating the book is, so let's move on.

LEGO Batman is my second subject... Traveller's Tale made another fabulous LEGO game. If you ask me LEGO Batman is the best of them all (and consider me a fan of Star Wars). LEGO Batman gives you the role of the Legendary Duo, Batman and Robin, and when beating the first episode you have the choice of following the bad guys, which means that you can play both good or evil at any point of the game (at least after beating one chapter). Also the plithora of the game is magnificent (at least from the evil side). Although the good guys are only four, the evil guys are no less than 15. The game is a must-buy for the fans of the previous LEGO games and fans of Batman.

Finally, the last topic is about another game, Mount and Blade. Mount and Blade is a RPG game.
For a long time Mount and Blade was a concept that fans created with their ideas in TaleWorlds. But then Paradox Interactive decided to produce the game. Although the game is based in medieval concept (meaning no magic and other handy staffs), it has some very interesting concepts in it. First the fighting is realistic enough with the mouse, but the moves are the same over and over. Also cavalry is great and real too. Both archery and melee fighting is realistic. Although the gameplay is pretty swallow mainly. Don't worry though since there are upcoming patches over the time which are pretty useful.

Now all I can say is that I'll write as soon as possible,
and as Brom said,
May your swords stay sharp,

Back from Holidays!!!

Finally, after a month and so in vacation I returned with restored energy to continue this Blog.
It's a long time since the last news I wrote and definitely I need to cover much ground.
So, first of all, let's talk about NBA transactions and Free Agents. Many teams have strengthen their rosters. The best if you ask me was Philadelphia which now has three quality players and many talented players around them. Of course I speak about: Brand,Iguodala and Miller. I believe that the 76s will be on the top four seeds of the East for the Play-offs.
Next, I believe is L.A. Clippers who although lost both Brand and Maggete acquired Baron Davis and Marcus Camby.

Also the Raptors made a good deal by tading (mainly) T.J. Ford and Nesterovic for J. O'Neal to Indiana.
Good move by the Warriors too, who lost Davis but acquired Maggete who lead the Clippers in scoring.
The Suns acquired Barnes and Dragic to add depth in the team roster and the Celtics signed some of the top reserves of the league.
Next Houston who treded Bobby Jackson, Greene and a future pick for Ron Artest, Ewing Jr (who left for Knicks to follow his father steps) and Singletary.
The most recent 'big' acquire came from Grizzlies who need a good center in starting 5 and took the Iranian Hamed Haddadi.

These news from NBA.

Now let's go to PC games reality.
Spore is just 6 days before realise and a special edition called "Spore: Galactic Edition" announced. Spore has turned all PC gamers eyes towards it and many are already counting the hours before September 7th.
Meanwhile a new preview of an old legend arrived. Of course I am talking about Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 which has many Hollywood stars playing in the videos. Here is the preview and here the cast of actors.

These are the 'biggest news' from my blog. Tommorow I'll return with news about this season series.
Take care,
Eowood

Celtic Pride

Evening all,
22 years passed since Celtics won the Finals. But now the Big Three has returned glorious once again. Pierce, Allen and Garnett, all got the champ's ring for the first time. And they did it with style. 39 points deficit, 131-92 the Lakers, isn't small to achieve. There is nothing to say, Celtics are in the top of the Basketball world...

Finally... Finals

Evening all,
sorry for being away so long. Many problems had to be solved... So, let's start with some NBA.
Many years have passed since the last match-up in the Finals between the Lakers and the Celtics, but the Big Three and Kobe managed to reach their teams there. Two match so far the Cs win 2-0 and if they win a game in Staples Center, then they will propably the next champs.

In the first game, Paul Pierce with an injury on his knee, he came back in the game and finished what he left unfinished before the injury. He scored 15 points in the quarter and the Cs won L.A.

Yesterday, Pierce scored 28 points, Powe helped with 21 and Rajo Rondo gave 16 assists. Although the big comeback at end (104-102) the Lakers lost again with the score stopping at 108-102.
Now, Kobe, Pau and the rest of the team must win both games in Staples Center if they wish to have a chance of becoming the champs.

Second Round!!!

Evening all,
we are now on the second round of the Playoffs and already in Game 2 in two match-ups. Yesterday, the Hornets stinged for the second time the Spurs and now the series will continue in San Antonio. Bad thing for the Spurs is that they never managed to turn a serie when they were down with 2-0. The heroes for the Hornets was Paul with 30 points and 12 assists and Stojakovic with 25 points. Also is good to mention that both Spurs and Hornets used every player from the bench.

Second game was the one between Magic and Pistons. The game was tough and close to score but Billups with 4-4 free-throws in the last minute send the Pistons with a leading 2-0 to Orlando for the third game. Billups scored 28 points (10-10 free-throws) and Prince added 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Another great new for the video game world is the release of the highly anticipated GTA IV for PS3 and Xbox 360 which took a diamont 10 from Gamespot.com. Here you can read the review for PS3.

Unbelievable!!!

Evening all,
from now on we should believe in miracles. 'Why?' you might ask. 'Because Hawks tied the series with Celtics in Atlanta to 3-3', I'll answer or as Pachulia said when the game was over: "We are in Game 7. Wwwwooooooooowwwwwww!!!!" Johnson scored 15 points, gave 5 assists and grabbed 4 rebounds. Bibby scored 17, gave 7 dimes and grabbed 6 rebounds. Plus Horford's 16 points and Williams 18. The Celtics also played good, ut not good enough. The 'Big Three' had 59 points with Garnett scoring 22, Allen 20 (with 1 out of 8 three pointers) and Pierce 17.

James spoke last and the Cavs eliminated Wizards for the third time in a row in the first round. James had 27 points, 13 assists and 13 rebounds to lead the Cavs. Also Willy Szczerbiak was amazing from the three point line and scored 26 and to those add Gibson's performance with 22 points (4-6 three pointers). Wizards couldn't resist although Jamison and Haywood's double-double with 23 points, 15 rebounds and 13 points 10 rebounds accordingly. Also Butler added 18 points and 9 rebounds.

McGrady scored 40 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but that wasn't enough to win the Jazz. Because T-Mac was all alone (except the times Scola was scoring), while the Jazz had 7 players with double digits!!! And from those 7, Boozer and Okur managed a double-double.

2 teams move on

Evening all,
yesterday, we saw some amazing things. First of all, Hawks made two wins streak in Atlanta to tie Celtics to 2-2. Secondly, Magic did their 'magics' and won the Raptors again. They move to the next round where they will be waiting Pistons or 76s. And another team that managed to move to the next round is Lakers. Bryant took his broom to sweep the Nuggets in Denver. Last game was Cavs vs Wizards in which James was amazing and moved the score 3-1 for the Cavs.

Other news of the day is the Sierra Event of 2008. A total of 37 games give their best to impress us. For more info go here.

Also Lord of the Rings Online new patch, Book 13: The Doom of the Last-King, is on its way to our PC.

76s break Pistons

Evening all,
last day we saw a big surprise in the Play-offs. As the title says, 76s won Pistons in Detroit. Also Celtics won Hawks with ease, Magic defeated the Raptors and Lakers won the Nuggets. But, lets have a better look in this:

Pistons - 76s 86 - 90

As I already said, 76s' win was a big surprise to everyone except Miller, who scored 20 points to lead the team and also Willy Green added 17. From Pistons, Wallace had 24 points and 9 rebounds.

Celtics - Hawks 104 - 81

KG returned in the Play-offs and scored 16 points plus 10 rebounds. But the best was no one from the Big Three, but Rondo with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists which tied the number of assists in a postseason game by rookie which was from 1980 from Nate Archibal of Rockets.

Magic - Raptors 114 - 100

Only this is enough, Howards scorred 25 points, grabbed 22 rebounds and delivered 5 blocks. Magic won again since 2003

Lakers - Nuggets 128 - 114

Iverson and Anthony scored 30 each (60) and Bryants with Gasol 32 and 36 accordingly (68). But the rest of the Lakers were better. Better luck next time...

See you again,

First Day of Post Season ended. Let's have a look.

Evening all, the first day of the post season ended and I am ready to say what happened...

Cleveland Cavaliers - Washington Wizards 93 - 86

James didn't took lightly what Stevenson told about him and he grabbed his gun to score 32 points. Two of which in critical time for the Cavs.

New Orleans Hornets - Dallas Mavericks 104 - 92

Paul brought the Hornets to post season and the same guy lead them to their first victory. CP3 scored 35 points, gave 10 assists and delivered 4 steals to beat Kidd's 11 points, 9 assists and 9 rebounds.

Houston Rockets - Utah Jazz 82 - 93

Jazz won Rockets in Houston and got a terrific advantage for the rest of the match-up. Jazz had Kirilenko and Boozer in great day (21 points and 20 points, 16 rebounds accordingly). And as Boozer said: "You can't replace Yao".

San Antonio Spurs - Phoenix Suns 117 - 115

The best game this day was this . A thriller you could say. Two overtimes, many critical shots and outstanding individual stats.
Spurs tied the game with a three-pointer from Finley in the end. Then in first overtime Duncan scored another three-pointer to send the game in second overtime. Nash tied the game in the ovetime with a difficult three-poiner from the corner with 10 seconds to go. Then Ginobili scored a beautiful lay-up for the victory.
Leaders were Duncan with 40 points and 15 rebounds!! from the Spurs and Nash with Stoudemire with 25 points and 13 assists and 33 points accordingly.
See you all soon,

Evening all,
yesterday I received a mail from iTunes (Apple) which wrote about the deal of Apple and Fox. Also it talked about a competition or challenge if you like. Anyway, Apple and Fox creted this challenge to help amateur filmmakers become pros and opened their doors in Hollywood for the best 5 filmmakers.
The challenge is this:
Baz Luhrman, yes the famous director, will send videos to anyone interested in this and he will give you three weeks to make and send your videos. There are five challenges, which means 5 winners. Don't worry though, you still have time until May, when the challenges begin.

NBA Playoffs 2008 are on!

Evening all,
the playoffs match-ups have finally been revealed. Amazing West finished with all 8 teams on 50 wins, while East had only three with 50 wins and only six of eight with a positive PCT.
But East with the extraordinary Celtics on the loose (66-16) has the most chances of winning the title. Why? Because Celtics have a 25-5 against West teams. And with the Big Three healthy no one can stop them. The only team that they are afraid of is Arenas' Wizards, which beat them three times and lose only once. Not bad.
The next big trouble of the East is Pistons. With the same recipe of the last eight years they are good enough to reach the East Finals.
But the rest of the Eastern teams have almost no good chance of even threatening both the East best teams and the Western candidates. Magic did a tremendously good regular season and won the South-East division, but the chances of reaching the Finals are few. Same goes for the Cavs who made some good additions in their team with West and Wallace. I believe that they will pass the first round but then comes most possibly the Celtics, so... who knows. James might have some of his nights. Wizards and Toronto played better basketball than last year, especially Wizards who played without Arenas and Butler for almost the whole regular season. A nice suprise are 76s and Hawks. 76s become better without Iverson (my opinion) and Iguodala become a good leader in the team. Hawks with the addition of Mike Bibby become tougher and more of a killer in 3-point shooting (don't forget Johnson).

Now West is far more 'powerful' than the East. All the first 8 teams finished with 50 wins at least with Lakers leading the Conference with 57-25.
Lakers are reborn this year. After the addition of Gasol, the possible new MVP trophy winner, Bryant become again a good defender and gave more trust to his teammates. Odom and Bynum improved and Lakers finished first. Old flashbacks of Celtics and Lakers facing in the Final are coming back.
Second in the West were the Hornets who had an amazing year. Their 'little guy' Chris Paul leads the NBA in assists and is a MVP candidate. His big effort accompanied by the big improvement in All-Star David West, Chandler and the resurection of Stojakovic, makes the Hornets able to stink their opponents until they touch the trophy.
Third goes Spurs with a 56-26. Duncan isn't as good as he used to, but Parker and Ginobily lead the team pretty well. They follow the same recipe since they drafted Duncan and they have good possibilities to reach the Finals.
North-West winners, the Jazz, with leading player Deron Williams are playing good basketball in both ends of the court. With a healthy Boozer and a good Kirilenko they can go deep in the playoffs.
Rockets had this year the best second winning streak in NBA history. 22 wins in a row and ten without Yao isn't easy to achieve. T-Mac leads and trust the team and Alston, Jackson, Scola and Battier can help the team go high.
Suns took a great risk this year and they traded away Marion and Banks for O'Neal. The beggining wasn't good enough, but that Shaq learned how to react and play as a Sun the team went higher. Nash is second leader in assists (after Paul) and has almost .500 in both 2pt and 3pt shooting plus a .901 in free throw line. Amare plays his best now that he is back in power forward position and the Suns have become a great candidate for the trophy.
Mavs brought back Kidd who finished the regural season with one more triple-double. Dirk still remains the star in the city and both Terry and Howard are doing their best. Although when Dirk injured, the Mavs were terrible and almost lost their playoffs seed.
And last but not least come the Nuggets. With Iverson and Anthony scoring together more than fifty points and healthy Martins and Camby this team can reach the Finals if they stay focused, although they clinched their playoffs pass only a game before the end of the regural season.

Here goes the match-ups of the playoffs:
East
(1) Boston Celtics vs. (8) Atlanta Hawks
(2) Detroit Pistons vs. (7) Philadelphia 76ers
(3) Orlando Magic vs. (6) Toronto Raptors
(4) Cleveland Cavaliers vs. (5) Washington Wizards

West
(1) Los Angeles Lakers vs. (8) Denver Nuggets
(2) New Orleans Hornets vs. (7) Dallas Mavericks
(3) San Antonio Spurs vs. (6) Phoenix Suns
(4) Utah Jazz vs. (5) Houston Rockets

See you all soon,
